Trinity River COMMON VISION Program

Master List of Arc/Info Feature Codes
Trinity River Corridor Engineering Mapping

In order to realize the full potential for Geographic Information System data applications, it is important that individual features be linkable to like features and distinguishable from dissimilar features. Essentially, identification and categorization are vital steps for most, if not all, worthwhile GIS applications.

In the development of the engineering level data for the corridor, specific feature numerical codes have been developed for nearly 100 types of features. Building outlines, for example, have been assigned feature code 31, Levees feature code 89, Lakes feature code 131, and Utility Poles feature code 110.

The codes listed below are the standards for features currently existing in the engineering mapping database.
